What counts as brainrot?

"Brainrot" is the umbrella term Gen Alpha uses for short-form video slang — everything from skibidi and rizz to sigma, ohio, fanum tax, and gyatt. The phrases are designed to be incomprehensible to adults, so the same sentence can sound like serious chaos to a parent and a normal hello to a teenager.

How the translator works

You paste text. Rotcode scans it word-by-word against a curated dictionary of modern slang, swaps each term for its plain-English meaning, and tallies a Brainrot Score from 0 (offline adult) to 100 (terminally online). You also get a glossary of every slang term it spotted and a polished "suggested better version" you can copy straight into a reply.

Five modes, one tool

  • Brainrot → English — translate it down.
  • English → Brainrot — rewrite normal text as chaos.
  • Gen Alpha decoder — softer mode for parents and teachers.
  • Make it more unhinged — crank the chaos to max.
  • Safe for parents — family-friendly explanation, no edge.
